About Us & Our Puppies

Welcome to Urban Puppies and thank you for taking the time to learn about us.
At the bottom of this page is our story but here is a quick summary about us and our puppies.

Here at Urban Puppies, we focus on
three major aspects:

  • The health and wellbeing of our mums;
  • Raising only the healthiest DNA tested puppies; and
  • Ensuring our puppies are well adjusted for their new homes with all the support they may need

Our Mums

Breeding dogs is such a big responsibility and you can be sure we do not take it lightly. Not only do we strive to produce happy and healthy puppies, we ensure all of our mums carry only the best traits. As the old saying goes, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” and all of our mums have great personalities and temperaments.

“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”

Being a very small breeder allows us to provide our mums with all the attention they need. Walks, dog parks, regular vet checks as well as the occasional train ride into Melbourne ensures our girls are well socialized and get to experience all that our great city has to offer. All this exposure and attention is evident in our girls’ friendly and outgoing personalities. We believe this is passed on to their puppies that easily adjust to their new homes.

DNA Testing Our Puppies

At Urban Puppies, we strive to breed only the healthiest puppies. DNA testing allows us to minimise the risk of our puppies inheriting a number of diseases.

Some of DNA testing we perform includes;

  • PRA -Progressive Rod Cone Degeneration (prcd);
  • Episodic Falling Syndrome; and
  • Curly Coat Dry Eye

“Minimising the risk of genetic diseases”

Minimising the risk of genetic diseases will not just help your new family member now, but throughout their whole life. It will not only help avoid expensive trips to the vet, but also the stress and heartache that comes with it.

Getting Our Puppies Ready

The health of our puppies is always paramount but we want to know our puppies will be ready for anything.

All of our puppies leave us:

  • Desexed;
  • Microchipped;
  • Vaccinated;
  • Full vet checked;
  • Well socialised in an urban environment; and
  • In their early stages of toilet training

“born and raised in a busy family environment”

After being born and raised in a busy family environment, our puppies transition into their new homes easily. We love to stay in contact with all of our puppies’ families, it’s fantastic to hear about how the new family members are fitting in.

Our Story

Hi there, welcome to Urban Puppies. Thank you for taking the time to discover how our puppies are raised. Responsible pet ownership starts long before your puppy’s first walk or even the first vet check. Knowing the home where your puppy comes from and the environment where he or she has been raised is essential when deciding on the correct pet for you and your family.

“We pride ourselves on our puppies”

If like us, your home is located in an urban area like the suburbs or city, having noise, visitors and other animals can be quite normal. Unless this is how your puppy has been raised, it can be daunting for him or her to adjust to. We pride ourselves on our Cavoodle puppies being born and raised in an urban environment. This means these little guys are completely fine with all the noise, energy and excitement within and around your home, no matter how busy things can get.

“part of our family”

Dogs have not only been pets to us but they have been a part of our family. From a Dogue de Bordeaux, (French Mastiff) to Cavaliers, it’s safe to say we have experienced quite a lot, and have learned so much along the way.

“meet our Cavoodle puppies in person”

When possible, we encourage all of our families to come down and meet our Cavoodle puppies in person before making the big decision. It’s a great way to get an idea of your puppy’s personality and well as their mum’s. All our girls have fantastic personalities. Being Cavaliers, they are quite gentle, however they don’t understand the idea of personal space and absolutely love attention, so be prepared to have a new best friend while you are over.

“our years of experience”

Making the decision to add another member to the family is a long-term commitment. Be sure to do your research and ask around for advice. Feel free to contact us for any help. Not only can we answer questions about our puppies, our years of experience may be helpful with providing advice on pet ownership in general and the duties and responsibilities of adopting a puppy.
